This composition, written in 1996 for string quartet and two years later for eight performers, “finally rained” in November 2019 after 23 years as the performance of a new version for six performers.
During this period, the performance was dogged by fear, the number of rehearsals, and the unwillingness of the performers to play so-called “punctualist music”. My desire and inspiration during a time of personal problems and the invasion of electronics and, indirectly, computers was to relax in the realm of “musical music”, the gentle sound and dance of summer rain.
I dedicated the second version of the composition to the 90th birthday of the respected composer and dear friend Jakob Jež.
